About the perfume matcher
What is a perfume matcher?
It's a tool that reads the fragrances you already love and finds the pattern behind them. Name two or three scents you reach for, and Dupejoy reads their shared notes and accords to show you the notes you gravitate to, similar fragrances, and an affordable dupe for each.
How does the matcher find similar scents?
It doesn't match on names or brands, it matches on notes. Each fragrance in Dupejoy is broken down into its accords, the note families it's built from. The matcher averages the ones you pick into a single scent fingerprint, then finds the fragrances whose fingerprints sit closest to yours, and the dupe that shares each one's key notes.
What if it doesn't know a perfume I love?
The search only offers fragrances we've note-matched, so you can't hit a dead end by typing an unknown name. If a scent you love isn't listed yet, pick the closest one you know, or start from the notes instead using the perfume notes finder.
