Armaf Club de Nuit, explained: which is which?

Club de Nuit is not one fragrance, it is a whole line of very different scents that share a name. Here is which clones what.

Armaf Club de Nuit is not a single fragrance, it is a whole line of very different scents that happen to share a name, which is exactly why shopping for it is so confusing. The famous one, Club de Nuit Intense Man, is the roughly $38 dupe of Creed Aventus. But Sillage clones Baccarat Rouge 540, Milestone clones Xerjoff Erba Pura, and Woman clones Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, three completely different smells under one label. Here is which is which, and which designer each one shares its notes with.

The name Club de Nuit has become shorthand for Armaf itself, thanks to how big Intense Man got. The catch is that Armaf has since put the Club de Nuit label on a dozen unrelated scents, so the name tells you almost nothing about how a bottle actually smells. The rule that saves you: shop by the original you want to smell like, not by the words on the box. Below are the ones worth knowing, each matched to the fragrance it shares its key notes with.

Club de Nuit Intense Man → Creed Aventus

The one everyone means when they say "Club de Nuit." Intense Man shares Aventus's pineapple, birch and smoky-musk signature at a 90% match, for about $38 instead of $445. It is arguably the single most famous fragrance dupe ever made, and it genuinely performs: strong projection and all-day longevity. If someone recommends "Club de Nuit" with no other word attached, this is what they mean.

Club de Nuit Sillage → Baccarat Rouge 540

Completely different scent, same family name. Sillage is Armaf's take on the sweet, radiant saffron-and-amber glow of MFK Baccarat Rouge 540, for around $31 instead of $325, an 85% match. One of the best-value ways into the BR540 accord, with the projection the name promises. Armaf's newer Club de Nuit Untold chases the same BR540 lane if you come across it.

Club de Nuit Milestone → Xerjoff Erba Pura

Milestone is the fruity crowd-pleaser of the line, a bright, sparkling orange-peach-and-vanilla scent that reads like Xerjoff's cult Erba Pura at an 88% match, for about $40 versus $250-plus. If you like Sauvage-era freshness but sweeter and juicier, this is the Club de Nuit to try, and nothing like Intense Man despite the shared name.

Club de Nuit Woman → Coco Mademoiselle

The one for the Chanel lovers. Club de Nuit Woman reinterprets Coco Mademoiselle's bright orange-patchouli signature, that going-out staple of the last two decades, at an 85% match for about $30 instead of $150. A reminder that Club de Nuit is not a men's-only line, it just gets talked about as one because Intense Man is so dominant.

The rest of the line

Beyond the big four, the label keeps expanding. Club de Nuit Urban Man is the green, fresh, aromatic entry; Club de Nuit Urban Elixir is often compared to Dior's Sauvage Elixir; Club de Nuit Iconic is the sweeter, more modern gourmand. They are decent but less essential than the four above, and the same rule applies: ignore the name and check what each one is actually built to smell like before you buy.

So which Club de Nuit should you buy?

Buy Intense Man if you want the legendary Aventus dupe and the safest blind buy in the line. Buy Sillage for the Baccarat Rouge 540 glow, Milestone for a bright fruity crowd-pleaser, and Woman for the Coco Mademoiselle lane. The one thing not to do is buy "Club de Nuit" on the strength of the name alone, because the next bottle over could be a totally different scent. Match the original you love to its dupe instead.

Common questions

Which Club de Nuit is the Creed Aventus dupe? Club de Nuit Intense Man is the Aventus dupe, a 90% note match for about $38. It is the original and most famous scent in the line.

Are all the Club de Nuit fragrances the same? No, they are unrelated scents that share a name. Intense Man clones Aventus, Sillage clones Baccarat Rouge 540, Milestone clones Erba Pura and Woman clones Coco Mademoiselle, so they smell nothing alike.

Which Club de Nuit is best? For most people Intense Man is the best buy: the closest match, the strongest performance and the lowest risk. The best one for you depends entirely on which designer fragrance you are trying to smell like.
